Politics in a World of Inequality

The Council of Europe will present its publications at the 24th World Congress of Political Science, which theme this year is “Politics in a World of Inequality”. This congress, organised every second year by the International Political Science Association (IPSA/AISP), will take place in Poznań (Poland) from 23 to 28 July 2016 and will gather more than 3,000 political scientists from over 80 countries. The principal themes covered by this congress will be: identity politics, national and social movements; international political economy and globalisation; international relations; political institutions and citizen engagement; political theory; public policy and administration.

IPSA was founded in Paris in 1949 under the aegis of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). The special mandate of IPSA, expressed in its Constitution, is to support the development of political science in all parts of the world, building academic networks linking East and West, North and South. Its aim is to create an inclusive and global political science community in which all can participate. It seeks to promote collaboration between scholars in emerging and established democracies and to support the academic freedoms needed for the social sciences to flourish.
