The Council of Europe took part in the 6th edition of the legal book fair Salon du livre juridique which took place at the French Constitutionan Council in Paris on Saturday 11 October 2014, from 10am to 6pm).

This fair, organised by the Constitutional Council and the Club des juristes, brings together editors, authors, legal practitioners, students and the general public and is enjoying increasing popularity: in 2013, more than 3 000 visitors attended. Johan Callewaert’s book The accession of the European Union to the European Convention on Human Rights (published by the Council of Europe) is a candidate for the award Prix du livre juridique, presented this year by Claude Bartolone, President of the French National Assembly. Mr Callewaert himself was present on the Organisation’s stand to meet the public and had a book-signing session.

The president of the Constitutional Council, Jean-Louis Debré, guided visitors ensuring they make the most of their visit to this prestigious site. The fair is the ideal opportunity for the Council of Europe to present its activities and publications in the legal field to an interested public. Admission to the event is free.
