Der heftige Protest, den die Unterzeichung des Anti-Produktpiraterie-Handelsabkommen (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, kurz ACTA) in vielen europäischen Länden im Februar 2012 verursacht hat, veranschaulicht beispielhaft den Balanceakt, den der Gesetzgeber bei der Festlegung des Schutzes geistiger Eigentumsrechte zu vollziehen hat. Die Interessen der Nutzer und die der Rechteinhaber bedürfen eines als "gerecht" empfundenen Ausgleichs.So kontrovers die Frage der Ausgestaltung von Urheberrechten diskutiert wird, so herrscht doch relativer Konsens darüber, dass Piraterie, also die vorsätzliche Verletzung dieser Rechte, systematisch bekämpft werden muss. Diese IRIS plus widmet sich dem Thema der Bekämpfung von Internetpiraterie, das besonders durch die ständige Verbesserung der Leistungsfähigkeit des elektronischen Datenaustauschs und der damit einhergehenden Zunahme von Urheberrechtsverletzungen eine besondere Brisanz hat.

Bekämpfung der Internetpiraterie in Russland: Rechtsrahmen und Entwicklung
In kaum einem Land sind die Herausforderungen an den Schutz des geistigen Eigentums im Allgemeinen und audiovisueller Produkte im Besonderen so groß gewesen wie in Russland.
