Der Leitbeitrag untersucht die Bestimmungen der Richtlinie über audiovisuelle Mediendienste zu kommerziellen Kommunikationen und zum Jugendschutz und zeigt auf, inwiefern die Richtlinie lineare und nichtlineare audiovisuelle Mediendienste unterschiedlich behandelt. Zudem erläutert er, inwieweit diese Unterschiede durch andere europäische Vorschriften ausgeräumt werden, die die Richtlinie stützen und die auf das Gesamtspektrum aller Medien- und Informationsdienste anwendbar sind.
