The Committee of Independent Experts, first of the four bodies responsible for supervising the implementation of the European Social Charter, examines the national reports of the Contracting Parties and adopts on this basis conclusions in which it indicates if it considers that during the period of report, each of the Contracting Parties has conformed to provisions included in the report.
The first part of Conclusions XIV-1 contains the Committee's conclusions reffering to national reports submitted for the period 1996 by the Contracting Parties (except Poland) on the application of Articles 1, 5, 6, 12, 13, 16 and 19 of the Charter. The second part of the Conclusions, comprises a table indicating the position of each Contracting Party having reported during cycle XIV-1.
This first volume of Conclusions XIV-1 contains the conclusions on reports submitted by Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland and Ireland
the second volume contains the conclusions on reports submitted by Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom, as well as the second part of the Conclusions XIV-1 and the tables showing details of acceptance of the various provisions of the European Social Charter and of the Additional Protocol of 1988.
