La mission de l'Observatoire sur l'enseignement de l'histoire en Europe (OHTE) est de fournir une image claire de l'état de l'enseignement de l'histoire dans ses États membres. Pour ce faire, l'OHTE publie des rapports généraux sur l'état de l'enseignement de l'histoire en Europe et des rapports thématiques, qui explorent des domaines d'intérêt particuliers et la manière dont ils sont traités dans les cours d'histoire.
Ce premier rapport général de l'OHTE sur l'état de l'enseignement de l'histoire en Europe présente l'état de l'enseignement de l'histoire dans les États membres de l'OHTE. Il couvre des sujets tels que la place de l'histoire dans les systèmes éducatifs, les priorités thématiques dans les programmes, l'utilisation des manuels d'histoire et d'autres ressources éducatives, les pratiques pédagogiques préférées, les résultats d'apprentissage et l'évaluation, ainsi que des informations sur les professeurs d'histoire et leur formation.
