Violence is a serious issue in the lives of many young people, and various types of violence inflict crushing damage on their well-being, integrity and life possibilities. In Europe today, many young people are active in placing violence prévention at the heart of human rights advocacy. This book discusses and presents policy recommendations that can support the work of young people, public authorities and non-governmental organisations in violence prevention and in dealing with the conséquences of violence. While these recommendations partially emerge from the experiences of young people as victims and perpetrators of multiple forms of violence, they emphasise the key role that young people can and do play as protagonists of violence prévention. This study is based on a Europe-wide synthesis of experience, research and practice accumulated within the Council of Europe's youth sector and in particular its activities in human rights éducation.
