The Bologna Process aims to create a European Higher Education Area by 2010, a geographical area in which students, graduates and holders of qualifications can benefit from widespread mobility. Its implementation therefore requires measures to facilitate the process of obtaining the recognition of qualifications, the cornerstone of this ambitious project. In addition to a comprehensive overview of recent developments in the recognition fiels, this work includes articles on topics such as the impact of emerging qualifications frameworks on recognition, recognition and quality assurance, learning outcomes, credit transfer, recognition and the labour market, transborder education and recognition issues outside the European Higher Education Area.
