The introduction and reintroduction of non-native organisms into the natural environment is an important issue for the conservation of biological diversity. Uncontrolled introduction and reintroduction are among the chief causes of the disappearance of flora and fauna species.
During the workshop, experts from several countries presented and discussed different methods of controlling and eradicating non-native terrestrial vertebrates, to provide technical tools for the implementation of Article 11 of the Bern Convention.
